Creating and displaying job openings with Account Hierarchy on the Client Portal

It was already possible to create job openings on the client portal. Now, this functionality has been extended to include subsidiary branches linked through the account hierarchy. MSR-1041 | Feb 2025

Who is this relevant for?

Do you want to give your clients the ability to create and manage their own job openings, including those for subsidiary branches? This feature enables you to do just that.

Key benefits of these new functionalities:

  • Create, edit, and delete job openings.
  • Copy an existing job opening to a new one.
  • Add and remove documents related to a job opening.
  • Submit a job opening for front-office processing.
  • View applications for a job opening.
  • Access application details, including CVs, appointments, and status logs.
  • And now, all of this is also available for subsidiary branches!

How it works in a nutshell

In MSR, job openings are created and can be linked to multiple accounts.

The account itself can be linked to a parent account via the "Parent Account" field.

You can use this to link accounts in a hierarchical structure.

For example, consider a headquarters with subsidiary branches in Amsterdam and Rotterdam, where Rotterdam also has its own sub-branch.

Since Amsterdam and Rotterdam are linked to the main account, the main account can also manage the job openings of those accounts.

This also applies to Rotterdam’s sub-branch, meaning the main account can manage the job openings of the sub-branch as well.

These principles also apply to the portal, where we introduced a new feature in the 2024-04 release: Create and display jobs and related application details on the customer portal.

Clients still see a list of existing job openings with predefined fields.

The key difference is that job openings from subsidiary branches, linked through the account hierarchy, are now also included in the overview.

You can enable the account hierarchy for creating job openings by including the "Account Name" field from the Account object in the portal field definition.

MSR then recognizes that job openings can also be created for subsidiary branches and displays a list of associated accounts.

When you click the "Add Job Opening" button, a new screen appears where you can fill in a predefined set of fields.

The additional fields displayed in this screen are configured in the portal controller.

To clearly distinguish between accounts, the address and city are displayed next to the account name. These details must be correctly entered in MSR to ensure they appear correctly on the portal.

The process for creating, submitting, and deleting a job opening, as well as uploading and removing documents, remains the same as before. The key difference is that this functionality now also applies to subsidiary accounts (branches).
