DataChecker migration to new platform

Enhance your system integration with the new DataChecker connection! The new DataChecker API integration and more robust architecture optimise document uploads and Secure ID link functionality. MSR-677 | Sep 2024

Who is this feature for?
Anyone who wishes to continue using identity verification services, such as passport, driving licence, ID card and work permit checks.

Benefits for you as a user

  1. The new DataChecker connection is faster, uses the latest security and privacy standards, offers detailed processing insights via a revamped portal and provides an improved Secure ID link with higher accuracy on the first attempt.
  2. Test the DataChecker service in a sandbox environment for free.
  3. A document is now immediately created with Secure ID link requests at the contact, allowing you to see if a request is outstanding and its status.

Explanation of this new feature

Transitioning to the new DataChecker platform is essential to continue using identity verification services. It is crucial to implement this feature by the end of 2024, as the old connection will no longer work after that.

Feature Implementation Time

  • Very simple implementation: Implementation time < 30 minutes

Setup

  • First, obtain the new login credentials (Username and Password) from DataChecker.
  • Create an External Reference via Setup, Named Credentials, switch to list view 'External References':
    • Choose a name and label
    • Select 'Basic Authentication' for Authentication Protocol
    • Click Save
    • In the external reference, go to Main Items and click New
    • Choose a Parameter Name and Order Number
    • Enter the new login credentials obtained from DataChecker in the Username and Password fields
  • Then create a Named Credential via Setup, Named Credentials, switch to list view 'Named Credentials':
    • Choose a name and label
    • URL: https://developer.datachecker.nl/ (for production) or https://developer.staging.datachecker.nl  (for test environments)
    • Choose the created External Reference
    • Tick the 'Allow HTTP header formulas' box
    • Under 'Access to managed packages', enter 'msf' in the 'Allowed callout namespaces' field
    • Click Save
  • Go to Setup, Permission Sets and select a set assigned to users who can request identity checks:
    • Choose 'Main access to external reference'
    • Click Edit and select 'Available main names for external reference'
    • Tick the created external reference
    • Click Save
  • Go to Setup, Custom Settings, Data Checker Settings:
    • Named Credentials: Enter the 'Name' of the created 'Named Credential'
    • Default Secure ID Link Subscription: Enter the subscription type agreed upon with DataChecker for processing Secure ID requests. This is 'IDV_LITE' or 'IDV_STANDARD'.
  • Adjust Document Types:
    • Several picklist values of the fields DataChecker-check (EEA) and DataChecker-check (non-EEA) are no longer supported in the new connection: manual, expert, rtw-basic and rtwplus-manual
    • The following picklist values are still available: basic, plus and rtw
    • Adjust the Document Types to the available picklist values and then remove the unsupported options from the picklist values via object management.
  • New field in the msrDocumenten object: Document Transaction (msf__Datachecker_Transaction__c)
    • Enable read and edit access for this new field in the relevant permission set or profile.
  • Retrieve processed identification requests; to process the results from DataChecker in Mysolution, you must activate the 'DataChecker Status Batch' so that it periodically checks if new documents are available from DataChecker:
    • You can add this batch as a global action via Setup, Publisher Layouts.
    • Drag the 'Schedule DataChecker Status Batch' option to the Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions section and save your change.
    • Click the '+' icon ('Global Actions') in the Salesforce main buttons bar and choose 'Schedule DataChecker Status Batch'. You can select from the following frequencies: every 15 / 30 / 45 / 60 minutes.
